The ASCOTRONICS Group was formed in October 2015 following the merger of ANNECY
ELECTRONIQUE and ASCOREL, which were founded in 1973 and 1988 respectively. The group now employs around 100 people.

As part of the expansion of ASCOREL, based in Pont-Evêque, we are currently seeking new talent. ASCOREL employs around sixty highly qualified staff.

In light of this, we are looking for a Field Technician for France and International Markets

Role and responsibilities:

You will be based in Pont-Évêque but will be required to travel throughout France and abroad to carry out the installation, maintenance and commissioning of anti-collision systems and cameras for tower cranes.

You will be part of the Crane Technical Support Department, comprising four technicians and technical experts.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • The installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of our products
  • Training our customers in the configuration and use of our products
  • Providing technical support to our customers over the telephone
  • Carrying out assignments both internationally (worldwide) and in France
  • Assisting the Crane Technical Support Manager with the organisation of the department

You will receive initial training on the range of crane systems to help you settle in and prepare you as effectively as possible for your new role.

This initial training will be supplemented by regular seminars attended by the whole team.

 

Qualifications:

You have completed a two-year higher education qualification (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or industrial maintenance.

 

Desired profile:

  • You have good interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team
  • You are methodical and meticulous in adhering to standards and instructions; you have an excellent customer service ethos and are dynamic and self-reliant
  • You have a perfect command of English (minimum B2 level) and are able to travel abroad without restriction
  • You are comfortable using IT and office software
  • You can read and interpret electrical diagrams
  • You are able to diagnose faults in electronic systems
  • You have knowledge of maintenance procedures for lifting equipment, construction machinery, lorries or specialised machinery
  • As the role may involve working at height, you are able to work safely in such conditions

 

Professional experience:

You have at least 5 years’ experience in the maintenance of technical equipment, including fault diagnosis and on-site repairs, on electronic, electrotechnical or mechanical systems.

 

Contract type:

Permanent contract – Non-executive classification (fixed daily rate)

 

Remuneration:

Full-time annual salary range over 12 months: between €38,000 and €42,000 depending on experience and profile. Career progression: in light of the current manager’s forthcoming retirement, a move towards taking charge of the department may be considered if the necessary skills and potential are demonstrated.
